A bit about me

Hi everyone

After a long and highly emotional journey of trying to become pregnant, I'm now ready to share the highs and lows of expecting twins (I'm hoping there are more highs!)

After two rounds of IVF using donor eggs, I'm currently five months pregnant and thrilled to bits.  Long gone is the sickness and sadly my beloved heels and it's hello to slippers, baggy clothes and easy-to-put on shoes, hmm, sexy!

I've welcomed in Christmas with orange juice, lemonade and water (yawn) and I'm once again eating spicy food (have learned to tolerate the heart burn), so I'm now waiting for the next stage in pregnancy; keeping energy levels up, learning how to put on my essential winter boots gracefully and sleeping as soundly as my dearest husband is at the moment.

Today (27 December) I have officially turned into my Mother and have bought Christmas wrapping paper (yes, I know it's hugely sad) and birthday cards for my family for next year!  In my defence, it's the new...organised me, as I doubt that I'll have neither the energy or enthusiasm next year.

  1. Firstly, I just want to mention how delighted I am at the excitement of your expected delivery :-). I love the idea of your blog and will definatley be your follower!

Nearly 4 years in and I still have to pinch myself as to how very lucky I am to have 2 beautiful girls(in my eyes anyway!). Yes, I have lost 'me' time, I have gained wobbly bits, have developed crow's feet & grown stretch marks that look like a map of the UK with varicose vains being rivers..... but I wouldn't change it for the world.

For me, the key to an easy life is organisation. It sounds boring but it does make your life easier. I am a list fanatic and I think it does make me slightly OCD but it also enables me to sleep soundly.... well, it would if the kids did!

The idea to rush out and be super mum really enthused me, but realality soon knocked me to the ground.

Take your time, there is never any rush. Sleep when you can, the washing & cleaning can wait and finally don't beat yourself up about following 'wise' words & text books. It'll come to you with instinct and you won't get wound up about doing the wrong/right thing.

Im always only a call away and I am really excited about hearing & reading about your journey. Love ya babe xx
